Jour bleu / Blue day

Having the will to make us travel and discover the worldthrough his pictures, Thomas Dhellemmes introduces "Jour bleu", a collection of his travel memories taken by his polaroid between 1984 and 2017. An invitation to travel, through time and space, in the intimacy of the artist. Jour bleu is a meeting between the photographer Thomas Dhellemmes and the writer Tahar Ben Jelloun (Goncourt prize 1987). He immersed himself in the photographs to write texts about the love and happiness that can be found during trips or family moments. His poetic writing combined with thomas’s photographs leads us to delve into our own memories, whose details disappear to form an abstract image. “Jour Bleu (Blue Day) is a voyage into my intimate life. My images are enigmatic, imprecise, damaged, bordering on abstractions similar to painting. This resembles my memories that, over the years, have slowly been erased from my recollections. All that remain from these voyages are moments of abundance, of happiness. A moment each person has already felt in his life. A timeless, universal moment.”
