In Between Time

This project is based on collages of photographs from my family photo collection. After several members of my family had passed away, this topic was clearly a result of my need of expression in respect to the accumulated memories (and photographs). I went through hundreds of photographs and found a surprising number of similar topics, situations and poses. People´s faces, their poses, gestures and basic life paths repeat themselves for generations, whether we see it as something hopeless or natural. They repeat themselves just like some compositions and situations on images throughout the history of photography. On the final collages people of different generations but of the same age meet, so they are allowed to meet; however, something like that would never be possible in reality. I created an imaginary interspace for them, which is in between time and as white as emptiness in some places.
