The series Wind is taken in Finland and England.
Like an writer uses pen and paper to write a novel; I create mine by combining the fabric and landscape. I suggest a story which is born in viewers mind and dependent on his/ her personal memories, experiences and associations.
Wind brings the clothes alive, plays with them, shakes them, directs them, or abandons them. Wind is their source of energy, their driving force; their master.
For me landscape is highly evocative and subjective. The landscape represents the cycle of life; of birth and death. It works as a stage or a setting in which I display the clothing .
My photographs are documents of the encounters between clothing and landscapes. By using the photograph instead of the installation as the final work of art, I am able to choose the exact frame, lighting and atmosphere which am looking for. I maintain control over the decisions as to what I include or leave out of the image.
By photographing my “mises en scène” I record a moment that once existed. When I leave, I take all settings with me; leave the view as it was before me.
