Candid Portraits

Never knowing when a photographic opportunity may arise, I rely on my iPhone to capture candid and extraordinary images of the people around me. Whether in a museum, on the Metro or in a restaurant fascinating people are almost always close by. Though the images submitted for the Lens Culture Portrait Awards 2020 were all taken with an iPhone, they were not taken hurriedly, they are not snapshots. I always consider the basics of good photography including proper framing of the subject and ensuring that the background will not distract from the subject.
