Thomas Calder

My work is focused on conceptual and fine art pieces. I regularly explore themes of identity and use the format of photography as a way of telling a story and delivering a message. I am interested in creating moments that ask more questions than answer them. Isolation is a huge part of my life as an artist, and part of my work is a way of reconnecting with the world. I believe there's true, undeniable power in human connection and the sharing of collective ideas, with anything I do, I hope in some way to contribute to that conversation. My photographs are highly conceptual: surreal and dreamy visual images that attempt to provoke deep feelings and emotions in the observer. They invite the viewer to travel to a different place and my hope is to inspire them to think and feel differently.
