6 single portraits

I was tossing up between entering this 'singles' section or the series. I have been working on a series called Past Friends Present which is all about the influential friendships in my life, now and in the past. But the 10 images didn't seem to work as well as a set, so I broke it down and added one portrait of a student I shot recently. I love portraiture. I find it so challenging to do well... and feel a kind of privilege when someone agrees for me to take their portrait. I am fascinated by people and the way we cultivate our personas and character.
