Föhn

In the summer of 2019, I spent a few weeks hiking in Tirol, shooting landscapes and photographing how people interact with such a remote environment. Thirty years earlier, in 1989, I had already visited Tirol as a small child. Since we live in the lowlands, my first glimpse of the huge mountains of the Alps and making snowballs in midsummer were quite memorable experiences. One of the areas most affected by global warming is these highlands. The massive changes leave a perceptible impact on the atmosphere of the region. Therefore, during my visit in 2019, many of my childhood memories became more and more connected to my current anxieties about climate change.
