Meiji Shrine weddings, Tokio
The Meiji Shrine, in Tokio, is dedicated to deified spirits of Emperor Meiji and his wife. It is the capital's most famous Shinto Shrine. Japanese couples come to the Shrine to perform their marriage ceremonies. On busy weekends up to 15 weddings can be celebrated. New born babies are brought to the Shrine for a blessing in a ceremony called Hasta Miyamairi.
