These are portraits of elderly people affected with different degrees of visual loss. The eyes that look out and look in drown in a "luminous fog" that reduces all things to a shapeless one&only thing. Their faces show a subtle estrangement from a world that has objectively changed at the same time that their eyes altered their perception of it. They slowly fade away from the world as their worlds fade away from them.
