Every December 12th, some of the most faithful catholic Mexicans travel thousands of miles by foot (or on their knees), bus or car to visit the Villa of Guadalupe, home to the Basílica of Our Guadalupe Lady. Once called the Tepeyac hill, this was the date attributed to the virgin's apparition to San Juan Diego Cuauhtlatoatzin, a chichimec indigenous in 1531 a.C.
People providing food and water, to musicians, dancers, pilgrims and tourists that collide together into a confusing chaos of religious ecstasy, inciense, joy and diversity.
