The Great Experiment

I have been examining San Francisco photographically to see how the people in the most 'progressive' city in the United States go about their lives at a time when the current federal administration is not only anti-progress, but also anti-immigrant, anti-gay, anti-science, anti-intellectual, anti-globalist, anti-environment, anti-truth, and anti-democracy. As a city that embraces the most aspirational ideals that the US has become known for around the world, how does the dissonance of having a narcissistic sociopath running our beloved country manifest itself on the street? This is an opaque look at a city that proudly touts itself as “ahead of the curve”. It's an investigation of the city's spirit, it’s struggles, and how it has been weathering the storm of constant fuckery by this regime during the uncertain, tumultuous, and ultra-polarized times leading up to the current global pandemic. Breathe. We need to be in this for the long haul.
