In 2016, as the diplomatic doors were opening, I made an impromptu trip to Havana Cuba. I took only a small, high quality pocket-size camera. For 5 days I remained in a small circle of central Havana with no agenda other than to be in that place. What I experienced was a city in decay leavened with vibrance. The light in the old streets was hot and bright with deep shadows. I am submitting only images that are the most moving to me personally. On my last day in Havana the first cruise ship in 50 years came into port, and I'm glad that I went when I did.
