a ramble in the suburbs

When urban space exists as a landscape, human activities become more apparent. At night, the light and the place it illuminates guide the way forward, and shows the extent of human transformation of this place when no one is using it. The sense of stage and strangeness in urban space is of interest to me, but it does not mean that I will travel to uninhabited places to take photos. Instead, I prefer to ramble in the area that is still in use and take photos at certain times (midnights and early mornings) which creates the opportunity of human to be absent. I pay attention to the state of urban development, especially the trans- formation of plants and construction sites. Each time I take photos on those places, they will change dramatically even after a few weeks. Urban space is not always stable, people’s experience will be constantly refreshed by new transformations. I chose these locations as samples and objects of study, through repeated visits to those specific locations, I recorded different states of the same area.
