'Rooftops' is a visual exploration of the rooftops overlooking the Old City of Jerusalem.
The Old City has a population of over 35,000 people of many different religions and cultures. I wanted to capture the intimate and close-quarter environment in which the people live together. The Old City is split into vague quarters; the Muslim Quarter, the Christian Quarter, the Jewish Quarter and the Armenian Quarter, however, from the view from the rooftops the sense of divide is absent.
The photographs are at first complex and correspond to one another, however, a closer inspection will allow the viewer to immerse themselves within the space and unearth many hidden treasures and bursts of colours that a quick look cannot.
