During three years I have dedicated myself to documenting the streets of Japan, both Tokyo and small towns in different prefectures. It has been a bittersweet journey that has been projected into the contrast of beauty and loneliness where social problems, emotional isolation, or niches have begun to appear.
For this series I have collected small events in the back alleys known as "Yokochos" where local people and mostly men gather after work for dinner and drinks.
I have decided to work with both Film formats, Monochrome, and Color due to my main objectives is to create an archive that is capable of displaying from visual dialogues and emotionalities to differences in lighting, objects, or this unique environment by itself.
"Where the crows come back", it's a frame to invite the observer to be present of the characters that flow these streets, as a response to the strong changing of the street environment and the imminent loss of this scenes. It is a record of the worker, the gather and loneliness to reflect on what now more than ever due to the global condition, is no longer with us.
