Passersby

What brings together this series of pictures is what photographers call the “golden hour". For a fleeting moment, light and shadow sculpt any passerby like a cinematographer would an actor. Ordinary people become the stars of their own life, unknowingly striking dramatic poses at a street corner. At a time when most passerbys have to wear a mask, the series is also a tribute to the human face and its endless ability to convey emotion through a split second. It's a hopeful reminder that the golden hour takes place just before sunset but fortunately, also just after sunrise.
