Merging Beauty with the Beast

I love photographing industrial structures especially when they have such abstract shapes like this particular cement factory. I have photographed it many times as it always looks so surreal. Every time I drive up this particular road towards the factory it reminds me of Dorothy from the Wizard of OZ seeing the Emerald City for the first time or a magical place like Willie Wonka’s Chocolate Factory with its tall stripped chimneys. It has a dreamlike feel to it as it sits in such a rural landscape with a backdrop of an ever-changing Irish sky. Pictured like a fairy tale castle down the end of the tarmacadam road. I wanted to create a place of fantasy by layering faces over my image giving a ghostly effect creating new fictitious stories about this place.
