The master class - an international educational program for documentary photographers - is set up by curators Marc Prüst and Lars Boering and powered by the Noorderlicht Foundation in the Netherlands. It sets itself apart by its long-term and in-depth approach to educating working photographers, and combines professional practice like editing, project planning, marketing and promotion with a strong focus on the photographic qualities of the participants.
Programme
For the master class a group of maximum 16 participants meets 3 times for 4 days during a period of 9 months at the offices of the Noorderlicht Foundation in the beautiful city of Groningen in the Netherlands. Under the guidance of curator Marc Prüst and Lars Boering of Lux Photo Gallery they will be pushed to make the next step in their careers.
With the aim to give true insight as to how to move their career forward, for each session the group of participants is joined by 2 masters who will talk about their specialty in the photographic business. The masters are not photographers, but all play leading roles in their profession within the business: from directors of photography of magazines, to photographic critics, and from collection consultants to art directors.
Meetings take place in Groningen in January, May, and September. You can join at any given time. www.northernlightsmasterclasss.com
