Using the black canvas of night, I paint my subjects with light, transforming ordinary objects into extraordinary scenes. Working with film, transparent colored lighting gels and minimal post-production, I manipulate the reality of the scene before my lens. My practice allows me to capture images that do not exist past their moment of creation. Film photography is traditionally tied to the truth, my work, however, manipulates the viewer to question what it is they are truly seeing. By utilizing light and color in an unfamiliar way, my photographs have a surreal quality that simultaneously confuses and entices the viewer. I invite you to explore the unfamiliarity of my creations.
