Isolation (Self)

I am in quarantine alone. ‘Isolation (Self)’ is an ongoing series of self-portraits and handmade cyanotype books created while in quarantine during the COVID-19 pandemic. The series explores the range of emotions and anxieties experienced during the period of self isolation, from the panic and sense of loss of the early lockdown days to the desire for intimacy, severe loneliness and disconnection felt after three months alone. The series was created while in isolation using an antique wooden view camera. The cyanotype prints were contact printed directly from my camera negatives. All of the books (viewable at https://vimeo.com/showcase/7264669) were hand made by me while in quarantine alone.
