Sea Through Plastics

I fell in love with Hawai'i almost immediately after landing, like I thought I would. But single use plastics were an eyesore. Hawaiians are trying to curb the plastic problem on their beaches and in the ocean. Honolulu, is banning plastic food containers, straws, and most plastic utensils on the island of Oahu. If you don't agree with that you are part of the problem. My newest body of work comes from the love I have for Hawai'i In my newest body of work, I am photographing sea life through plastic drinking straws. While the images are striking you can see that the plastic makes it hard to see the the true beauty and forms of ocean life.
