I placed my finger on a map and drew a line connecting the places these photographs were taken. Exotic places I had dreamt about escaping to as a little girl. I certainly didn’t think it would ever happen. It all started in the winter of 2005. A journey into the unknown. Maybe I it was the adventure or because the unknown is so damn photogenic but it was the beginning of a long tumultuous love affair with adventure and getting off the beaten path. A 10 year world expedition on a boat to the wildest corners of the planet. It’s a bit overwhelming to think of the blood, sweat, tears and time that went into getting to these places, photographing them. There were many days of seasickness, sunburns, illnesses, arguments and endless boat repairs but there were also countless intoxicating moments of pure joy and happiness that stirred the very depths of my soul in the ways that only exploration can. While these images seem to have no rhyme or reason, they are glimpses into the journey that took me farther and wider than I ever thought possible.
