Chile is a special country, starting by its geography. skinny and long, so long that it is the longest in the world with aprox. 4,300 kms. Being very narrow the sea meets the cordillera (mountain range) in not so many kilometers. We also have the driest desert worldwide. The Atacama desert.
This series of pictures were taken in a little town called Barranquilla, which is situated in front of the Pacific ocean, at the beginning of the Atacama desert. Its a fisherman´s town, but also a very humble summer vacations spot that some people who live inland frequent during the hottest months of the year. They build little colorful houses mostly by themselves so they can enjoy the beach and the good seafood which is sold at the small cove.
