Lords of Khandiga

The most epic day - climbing the Khandygi mountains in Yakutia (which is the Polar of Cold)... this is our joint project with a photographer Segei Sharin. Since childhood, I adore Tolkien. Did not even arise the question what to shoot in the epic Yakut mountains of Khandyga - The Lord of the Ring! All I had to do was: to find crazy models (my sister, her friend and my friend photographer), sew costumes, make a hat and a staff, make Lembas elven bread, print the map, find a similar ring, drive 16 hours off-road, climb to a height of 1700 m above the sea level, carrying cameras, lenses and props behind your back. “easy!”. There was no task to repeat exactly the shots from the film, but to shoot variations on the theme.If talk about climbing , we climbed 3.5 hours, at the top many were overwhelmed with emotions, many shed tears from the beauty they saw, and what was the sky, what beauty all around, that the heart was pounding with happiness!
