Journey 2020

New Zealand went into Covid 19 lock-down on 25 March. I did not leave my home in Mangonui, located in the Far north of Aotearoa New Zealand for 60 days. I decided that first thing every morning I'd photograph the yard around my home, with the added challenge that every shot include a specific area of elevated deck - a place and space that encourages within me an inner journey whilst also offering a vantage point from which to enjoy nature - the open sky with its ever changing light, colours and patterns, the surrounding farmlands and forests, and distant coastal landscape. This series of images draws on my journey during an unsettling time, and an innate desire to start each morning with a creative challenge.
