Rain and Variations
These shots are taken from a large ensemble that I have titled "Rain Painting". The rain photography I call "Rain Painting" doesn't just take rain as a theme: it is made WITH rain (on a glass or on windshield); rain is both a material and a photographic prism. The connection with painting is obvious: the rain creates blurring effects, and a blurring of the lines, a tremor that can make you think of pictorial impressionism or pointillism. The metamorphosis of reality that rain is capable of can go as far as abstraction. The effect is always dependent on the type of rain and its abundance: spat or downpour, slow pace, serene, or nervous and fierce. Like rain, like photo.
