“Supreme light that opened over my hair
a world at its zenith, it entered my eyes
and ran through my veins
into every corner of my body,
until granting me the sovereignty
of an excessive, exiled love.”
Rangoon 1927, Pablo Neruda
These pictures taken between December 2012 and May 2015 depict a city which has long remained frozen in time and which is on the verge of being defaced and profoundly transformed by a recent wave of long-awaited development.
They are very much tinted with a kind of anticipated nostalgia.
