Many neighborhoods in New York City, which are unique and offer an alternative to all the high rise uniformity you see elsewhere, are being gradually demolished. Willets Point, also known as the Iron Triangle, offered work to hundreds of mechanics and autobody specialists, many of them immigrants. Neglected for years, the area still thrived as a destination for drivers wanting experts to work on their vehicles at an affordable price. Now the city is moving in, destroying the area block by block, with the aim of developing a new residential neighborhood.
