Stories of the Aegean islands

Aegean is more than a destination with beautiful landscapes. Is a landmark for travellers, especially during summer. For many years I am travelling at the Aegean islands and I capture the traditions, gastronomy, landscapes, architecture and the spectacular light that gives meaning to everything. Aegean light is strong, sensitive, changes fast, transforms environment, makes it like a sculpture. Life in the islands had always something mythical for me. Something calm, quiet, happy, esoteric, refreshed. Even during autumn and winter where wind determines many things about people's survival (the boat may not come for a week), these places keep their calmness, their routine. The people continue create their lifes and culture that they give to us so openly whenever we go. For every church that we see, for every village, for every cliff there is a story behind. All these moments that I captured through these pictures are very personal for me. These images are a story just by themselves that I remember at once when I see them or think about them.
