The “Pastiche Series” grew out of isolation and quarantine due to the Covid-19 pandemic. As galleries and museums closed their doors, I no longer had the opportunity to go inside and peruse rooms full of art—I missed this.
My imagination became my freedom and I filled my time creating photomontages inspired by the styles and subjects of famous artists whose work was now hanging in dark and vacant rooms. Using photographs from my archives, the photomontages start with an exterior image of the Guggenheim Museum—symbolic of bringing and viewing the art outside.
Pears, Moon Over Planet in Crisis and Three Blooms—from the Pastiche Series—pay homage to iconic and influential photographers.
