The Color In Black and White

We see the world in colors; colors that connect with us on a physical, mental, and emotional level. In our day to day life, we react to those colors almost unconsciously, but not always. When viewing an image, especially for the first time, we have an immediate reaction to the colors and of course, the image itself. The colors the artist chooses directly affect your physical, mental, and emotional reaction to the picture. Like color, black and white images also have tones, textures, shades, and hues. I love black and white images. When I fill-in the colors, I determine the direction or base of the viewer's reactions. With black and white images, they fill in the colors. With my black and white images, I connect with the viewer in a more intimate way.
