With her photos, Dienie Brouwer tries to paint the eternal fear of death, against transience. In particular, she uses her body that depict the fight against impermanence
in all sorts of poses: the fight of the body against old age, the fight against mental loneliness, and the ultimate fear of death. Bodies fading.
Everyone fights to remain visible, to be seen. But the fight against old age and death is never won. In the end everyone loses that ultimate battle, a hopeless match, a lonely autumn.
