It seemed that I, just like Alice, had fallen into Wonderland – hypnotized by the lack of clocks or windows to the outside world; the babble of a crowd, a never-ending maze of blackjack tables and slot machines, sounds, lights and flashing figures, cigarette smoke and oxygen-enriched air. I almost felt invisible. They all seemed so busy, immersed in their own worlds - each inhabited only by a desire to win and the ever-fading dream of a miracle.
