By A Thread is an examination of technologies that are almost obsolete, but still in use by a small minority of people. Landlines and rotary dial phones, typewriters and film cameras are a few of the objects depicted in this series. Each image is a photogram made from phones, typewriters and cameras that have been dismantled or broken - this reflects their physical demise, only in a more extreme form. By abstracting these objects, I am mimicking their slow fade. Objects that have passed out of use are still remembered, but depictions of items grow fuzzy in our minds and become more like thoughts than tools.
