Workers of Saffron Field

Every year in saffron fields in Torbat-e-Heydariyeh (Khorasan-e-Razavi) in November, saffron fields begin to flower and change the city of Torbat-e-Heydariyeh into the most saffron-rich city in the world. The main occupation of cultivation farmers is the cultivation of saffron. Saffron flowers are very expensive. Young, Men and women workers from nearby villages and towns of Torbat Heydariyeh such as Torbat-e-Jam, most of them Sunnis to collect saffron flowers. They came to the city temporarily and settled in villages with saffron fields. The saffron flowers begin to open from dawn to noon, and due to the cold weather before sunrise, workers cover their faces as well to prevent sunburn. In this collection the photographer has attempted to record this cover in his photographs. All photos were recorded in November of 2018 in saffron fields of Anbarasra, Golzar, Mughzar.
