My work has varied over time, but I have mainly stuck by the concept of the Veil, through the male gaze. However, through further research my concepts unravelled towards and turned more towards the female gaze with in my family and specifically a South Asian family. Dialogues within family members have always been a challenge for me to bring into my work as it is a delicate topic to unravel. From the constant disagreements with my mother, to the calming male presence of my father and grandfather. There is a sense of empowerment within the strong female figures in my family, that has made me feel weak internally growing up. Whereas, with my grandfather, gave me the courage and strength to be proud of who I am. I like playing around with different kinds of gestures to articulate my thoughts. Comfort vs. suffocation. claustrophobia vs. contentment.
