Forty five years ago, cycling through the wood near home I saw a frog
in the road ahead of me.
As I stopped to pick him up and put him out of harms way I realised his back legs had been run over by a car and were squashed flat into the tarmac.
His eyes were bright and wide open looking up at me. We were both
stuck there. After a long apology I had to leave him.
Decades later, repressed memories like these are coming back to me.
The photographs in this series are based on these childhood recollections. Uncanny, ambiguous scenes exploring recurring themes of fear and anxiety.
