The Nature in Construction
A construction site is often seen as a large zone of work. Massive machinery, mountains of building material, and screeching noise disturb our peace of mind. However, my interest lies not in what is readily seen or heard, but in what can be found when, after working hours, one sneaks in and takes a closer look at a different, more complex world.
What is hidden are abstractions of color, texture, and form that translate, in my eyes, as naturescapes. The Nature in Construction is a series of photographs capturing these land and waterscapes. Rusted drilling pipes, scrap containers, and cement mixers, narrate how the combination of weather, human touch, and material come together to form what Elliott Erwitt described as “something interesting in an ordinary place…”
