Last fall, a woman approached me with a request to arrange a photo session for her. When she entered my studio, I immediately realized that an unusual job awaited me, just as my model was unusual, as if from another time. A quiet apologetic voice, mannerisms and clothes clearly betrayed a person living in his own universe. Wilma, as she was called, was well educated and artistic. It turned out that she is terminally ill (tyumor) and wants the memory of her existence to remain in the photographs. A confidential conversation ensued between us, and it turned out that her life was not happy. She experienced a childhood full of complexes and insecurities, fears, struggles and unfulfilled plans and dreams. Therefore, I decided to fulfill her innermost desires by photographing Wilma as a lover, as a bride, and as a woman expecting a child. That which did not come true in life could be visualized in photographic images. Wilma was especially touched by the last photo, where she lies veiled in the form of an embryo, as if trying to feel her connection with the earth with her body and merge with it, forgetting about the pains and disappointments. I saw a joyful glint in her eyes as she looked at her ready-made photo prints. I managed to briefly fill her life with joyful excitement and even happiness, as evidenced by her poems and e-mail messages to me. Wilma really wanted me to share a story about her and photographs where she radiates femininity, kindness and beauty. I grant her last wish.
