Chinese markets. Yangshou 2010

Yangshou food market provides locals with fresh fruits and vegetables. It also sells meat and fish. There is a lack of refrigerators in the market therefore the animals are usually kept in cages and killed on site. Dog carcasses hang from the ceiling by hooks meanwhile the chicken and ducks are being plucked and eviscerated by the butchers. Scenery in Yangshou is beautiful. A place by the river Li surrounded by karst peaks in the Guangxi province south of China. The pictures were taken the year 2010.
