Banks in Gombe state have made the wearing of face masks compulsory for customers inside banks, in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19. This has opened the door of business for boys who live close to the banks. These boys now sell face masks to bank customers on roadsides. However, they are at risk of being hit by vehicles. Ironically, they don't wear face masks. Therefore, they are also at risk of getting infected with COVID-19. While they risk their lives and earn money, they also contributes to the prevention of COVID-19 spread by selling face masks.
"Street Face Mask Faces" is a series of 7 photographs captured in December 2020, which is aimed at celebrating the boys who contribute to the prevention of COVID-19 spread by bringing face masks closer to bank customers.
