“Man with…” is an ongoing series of self-portraits taken during the period of COVID-19 quarantine and social distancing restrictions, drawing inspiration from Cindy Sherman’s Untitled Film Stills (1977-1980), “Man with…” is about exploring how we project our own identity to the outside world via the clothes we wear, the things we buy and the characters, personas, and tribes we self ascribe to. These portraits aim to ponder what role, and to what extent and responsibility does the media and the marketing machine have in influencing our own sense of who we are, or how we want to be seen by others in the outside world versus who we know ourselves to be deep down.
