For me, the human face is the most fascinating subject in photography. Faces magically attract me and no two are alike.
Often it is the little things that appeal to me, be it the shape of the eye, nose or mouth, be it the type of smile or laugh that attracts me. But it can also be a certain facial expression that strikes me and sometimes it's just the way you wear your hair. In any case, it is something that appears to me as something special at the moment of seeing, so that the desire arises in me to want to capture what I have seen.
If there are people I don't know, I approach them and try to convey my concerns. In moments like this I have seen very different reactions. For me it is the case that a conversation or speaking with my counterpart is the basis for trust and thus for a good portrait.
One thing is particularly important to me, I want to create something positive and beautiful with my portraits; something that might even make the viewer smile.
