Self preservation

Life is busy and full. A lot of the time it's full of making sure everyone else in the house has everything they need. When I was diagnosed with breast cancer a friend took me aside and told me I would have to focus on myself if I was going to survive and continue to be there for my kids. Turning the camera on myself was a challenge for someone who barely features in family albums, but it kept me creative during some fairly dark days, and gave me a way of externalising some of what was going on internally.
