My work in staged self-portraits portrays the female condition in all its myriad forms. From the absurd to the poignant, these scenes display the complexity of women’s lives from my grandmother’s era to the present day. My portraits display humor, strength, anger and pain. They are a visual manifestation of our voices, our protests, and our struggles to be seen, heard and respected. The scenes are born of my imagination and my witness to life as a woman.
