PORTRAITURE

In these photos submitted I wanted to show portrait images of people from different backgrounds and cultures in a variety of moods and each telling a story. Contrasting shadow and light in the black and white photos, showing the deep texture of older skin of the elderly man at the train station in Constanta, Romania or the uneven texture of the young 14 year old Cuban boy The image of the young fresh faced girl reflected in the mirror to the young smooth skin Habenero asleep in the back seat of the American Classic car in Habana. The mother and her twin boys being breast fed spoke volumes to me of her life in Rubuguri, Uganda. I didn't want contrived portrait photos but photos showing people caught in the moment, maybe deep in thought, unaware or a little cross . These moments are what make my life as a photographer so fulfilling.
