These self-portraits were taken after contracting COVID-19. With relatively mild flu symptoms at the start, loss of taste and smell, headaches, brain fog, fatigue. The worst has been and the still lingering vertigo/dizziness. These photos embody the overwhelming sensation of what it feels like to have this insidious illness. Fear, dread, loneliness and depression are daily emotions I still deal with.
Each image was taken by myself walking back and forth between the front and back of the camera while using the camera's self-timer. The roughly hour long session was especially difficult as I was still strongly effected by the vertigo, headaches and impaired vision.
