Los Poblanos-The Community

Community is what this ongoing project is about. I visit places with various kinds of communities... historic, cultural, work, difference, age... doesn't matter... communities are bound in ways that sometimes go unnoticed. My purpose is to show the bonds and to elevate the connections into clearer sight... for all to see. So... I photograph people from the community in a way that is unifying and true to the person and the community. A single background. A single light. BW. Then... I return in a few months with a show to hang in a community space. In the case of Los Poblanos it was the the La Quinta Art Center and we invite the wider community to come and visit. It was a moving experience for all. They realized how much they share. Every single day. And so many stories were told... This is what matters.
