This is a collection of images that best express how I see the world. In colour, with friends and family, often incorporating food. As a proclaimed foodie, food plays a huge part in my life, but now also my family's. It's a way of expression and experience of cultures and a glimpse into different worlds than your own.
I grew up with a Russian mother and a Swedish father and I'm married to an Aussie, currently living in Australia. All these places and cultures have left imprints on my life and my way of seeing. Art, creation and culture are all a part of my DNA and therefore I draw on them for inspiration.
When photographing my friend in the river back home in Sweden, the main inspiration for that image was from the classical painter Anders Zorn, who masterly painted nudes, often in or around water holes.
Life is unpredictable, sometimes unforgiving and often very beautiful and as an artist, I see it my obligation to capture these rare glimpses of bliss passing us by.
