Livio Salvi is an italian artist, originally from Bergamo, now living in London.
He’s had an eclectic career as an international performing artist in theatre, TV and cinema, been recognised by his peers in the showbiz industry (9 Gold & 3 Platinum discs, Echo award, Golden Henne, Amadeus award). Furthemore he has created original works as a choreographer & movement director in Italy, Germany and the UK.
Since moving to London in early 2012, the vibrant artistic scene there prompted him to dive into the art of photography as another form of creative expression.
Guidance from well-established photographers, such as Brooke Shaden, Jordan Matter and Joel Grimes has been invaluable, and with the help of his creative friends from the performing world, he has been able to put his ideas immediately into action, exploring & developing his skills as a portrait photographer.
Dancers, and performers in general, being comfortable with their physicality and unafraid to express their vulnerability & strengths in front of the lens, have become his favourite subjects to shoot. They are the natural choice when direction is required, not unlike on a movie set or on a theatre stage. Using elements found in nature and with the help of photoshop editing techniques, Livio creates images suspended between reality and an imaginary world filled with timeless characters.
